Our Story
Ancient Wisdom. Living Tradition. Transformative Education.
The Maharani Academy was founded from a simple yet profound belief: authentic Ayurvedic knowledge has the power to transform not only individual lives, but entire communities.
For more than three decades, founder Corinna Maharani has dedicated her life to preserving and sharing one of Ayurveda's rare living traditions through education that is rooted in lineage, guided by experience, and brought to life through compassionate hands-on practice.
Today, Maharani Academy welcomes students from around the world who feel called to deepen their understanding of Ayurveda, PanchaKarma, Marma Therapy, and the art of healing through authentic traditional practices.
Whether you are beginning your journey or expanding an existing wellness practice, our mission remains the same—to help you become a confident, skilled, and heart-centered practitioner capable of bringing meaningful healing into the lives of others.
"Learning about Ayurveda is like reawakening to something we already know."
— Corinna MaharaniWhat makes Maharani Academy unique is not simply what we teach, but how that knowledge has been preserved.
Our educational foundation comes directly from the Shaka Vansiya Ayurveda (SVA) lineage through Corinna's lifelong teacher, Vaidya R.K. Mishra.
Unlike many modern interpretations of Ayurveda, the Shaka Vansiya lineage has been carefully preserved through generations of master physicians, maintaining an unbroken tradition of personalized healing, subtle energetic understanding, and profound respect for Nature's intelligence.
This living tradition teaches that healing should never force the body. Instead, it supports the body's innate wisdom, gently removing obstacles while simultaneously nourishing vitality and resilience.
This philosophy guides every class, every treatment, and every student who trains at Maharani Academy.

Education That Honors Both Tradition and Modern Practice
At Maharani Academy, students receive more than information—they cultivate practical skills, clinical confidence, and a deeper relationship with healing itself.
Our curriculum blends rigorous technical instruction with immersive hands-on experience, allowing students to understand not only how Ayurvedic therapies are performed, but why they have been practiced for thousands of years.
Throughout your education, you'll learn to:
Master traditional PanchaKarma therapies
Understand Marma Therapy and subtle energetics
Develop refined therapeutic touch
Create meaningful healing experiences
Build a successful and ethical professional practice
Every lesson is grounded in authenticity while remaining deeply relevant for today's practitioners.
"Every treatment is a healing ceremony."
The Three Gateways of Learning
One of the defining characteristics of Maharani Academy is our signature educational philosophy: The Three Gateways of Learning.
Rather than simply memorizing techniques, students develop mastery through three complementary dimensions of learning.
Inner Wisdom
Healing begins with presence.
Students learn to cultivate intuition, deepen self-awareness, and develop the quiet confidence that allows them to truly listen—to themselves, to Nature, and to the person on their table.
This inner development becomes the foundation for authentic therapeutic relationships and lifelong learning.
Precision Touch
Ancient healing traditions endure because their techniques are practiced with precision.
Students receive detailed instruction in Ayurvedic Bodywork™, Marma Therapy, and PanchaKarma protocols while learning to personalize treatments according to each individual's unique constitution and needs.
Every movement carries intention.
Every detail matters.
Healing Ceremony
Healing extends beyond technique.
Students learn to thoughtfully create environments that engage all the senses, transforming treatments into deeply restorative experiences that nourish body, mind, and spirit.
From the preparation of herbal oils to the rhythm of a treatment, every element contributes to the patient's healing journey.
"We are all both teacher and student."
Why We Chose the Name Maharani
"Maha" means great.
"Rani" means queen.
Together, Maharani represents far more than a name.
It reflects a philosophy of honoring the innate dignity, wisdom, and sacredness present within every individual.
The Academy's name also reflects our commitment to the Divine Feminine, the intelligence of Nature, and the belief that healing flourishes when offered with humility, compassion, and deep respect.
These values continue to shape every aspect of our teaching and our community.
Looking Toward the Future
Maharani Academy continues to grow with a vision that extends beyond education.
Our long-term dream is to create a permanent Ayurvedic sanctuary—a place where students, practitioners, clients, and Nature come together in service of healing.
This future campus will integrate:
Professional Ayurvedic education
Traditional PanchaKarma
Community healing
Botanical gardens
Animal sanctuary
Retreat experiences
Environmental stewardship
It represents our belief that the health of people, animals, and the natural world are inseparable.
"Only a human heart that has opened itself toward empathy that also includes animals can fully expand its true potential. May we all help collectively heal each other and our beautiful planet with the ambrosial gifts of Ayurveda."
— Corinna Maharani
Join a Community Dedicated to Healing
Choosing where you study Ayurveda is about far more than earning a certification.
It is about finding teachers who embody the wisdom they share, classmates who inspire your growth, and a community that supports your journey long after graduation.
At Maharani Academy, education is not simply the transfer of knowledge.
It is the beginning of a lifelong relationship with Ayurveda, with Nature, and with your own capacity to help others heal.
